Beneficio El Carmen

This place has been dedicated to coffee cultivation for more than four generations. It is located just five minutes from Concepción de Ataco, in Ahuachapán, one of the municipalities along the Ruta de Las Flores.

Here you’ll see how coffee beans are transformed into high-quality export-grade coffee, which has enabled the traditional Alpha brand to reach the most demanding international markets.

There, you can choose between two tours. One is the traditional tour, featuring a guided walk through the processing facility where you’ll learn about the coffee transformation process; the other is a comprehensive tour where you’ll be welcomed at La Casona, the farm’s historic main house, and enjoy a cup of gourmet coffee—brewed using the “chorreador” method paired with a traditional sweet bread. You’ll then take a guided tour of the coffee processing facility and learn the basics of coffee cupping.

At the end, you’ll receive a pound of gourmet coffee and enjoy a rustic lunch.

On the farm, you can ride an ATV, go zip-lining, hike, go horseback riding, or tackle the high ropes course.
